Define Nature J. Kamp 2008
Oil and Crayon on Door Sheeting 6.5' x 3'
Corinne. While this painting seems erotic in nature it is quite the contrary. Corinne is a Hot Shot fire fighter who 'was' top heavy. J. Kamp promised her she would paint her after her breast reduction surgery. The bandages on her nipples are do to the removal of the nipple in surgery. The perspective of the breasts seem off...it is due to the top swelling of the breast...First shown at Colorado State University in RELENT show: collaborative show with Ishmael Johnson in 2008. Private Collection: Dameion Stoker
Painting of Preminition (aka. Teal). Preminition and J. Kamp have the same nickname because they feel like their meeting of each other was of Premonition. Teal is the first viewer J. Kamp has met that understands the statement of J. Kamp's work. J. Kampbegan to work with Islamic geometric patterns at the beginning of 2009...the geometeric patterns in this piece are ghost images that survive under the figure: as time goes on this geometeric pattern will bleed through the white paint. Above the figure are dead iris'sLook at these closely. First shown at The Gallery Underground in Fort Collins, CO. These pieces are not meant to have a connection to the Muslim tradition or disgrace the practices of such people.First shown at The Gallery Underground

Teal). Photo taken under stairs in basement at the Motherload--Teal's mother's store--in Fort Collins, CO the day after closing for relocation. With the Preminitions is where the style started to change. J. Kamp began to work with Islamic geometric patterns at the beginning of 2009. This was inspired by the reading of Rumi and Sufi thought, on a regular basis. Many of the pieces have dead trees or flowers intertwined in the piece, as well as, hands. There also occurred a shift in light...more white is used in these pieces. As an attempt to bring out the process in art, J. Kamp began to layer her work more. Look at these closely. First shown at The Gallery Underground in Fort Collins, CO. These pieces are not meant to have a connection to the Muslim tradition or disgrace the practices of such people. First shown at The Gallery Underground

Look at these closely. First shown at The Gallery Underground in Fort Collins, CO. These pieces are not meant to have a connection to the Muslim tradition or disgrace the practices of such people.
